Have you heard about Tinago Falls? If you don't heard about it, Tinago Falls is a waterfalls which located here in Iligan (although claimed by nearest municipality, Linamon, as their part of their political jurisdiction), it is one of the main tourist attractions and known as the part of the majestic waterfall.
Seeing the waterfall itself requires you to walk down for about an estimate of 500 steps, but be cautious of every step you took because some of the steps are slippery which you'll get fall down immediately. The Tinago Falls is high which stands for 240.0 feet (according to Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinago_Falls), the water is cold about 20 degrees, the waterfall is also deep in a basin-like pool, and a blue-colored like lagoon. There is also a small cave under the waterfall which is accessible via a "bamboo-boat" using a rope and listening to the rumbling sound of the waters.
Tinago Falls was previously a resort at that time and was bankrupt around 2005-2006 by a bank firm. During those days, they have also a mini-zoo, pools, cottages and etc.
They were two entrance we're in the Buru-un, Iligan City and the Linamon part. English term to tinago is "hidden".
Getting to Tinago Falls is somewhat difficult, you can ride on a "habal-habal" (a local term to motorcycles that make it as a alternate to a passenger jeepney, if it is in case that you don't have a car)
which they are located on the entrance going to the waterfall, just beyond on the national highway. While riding, some parts of the road were rocky and sometimes they were smooth and you must hold tight when encountering such big hoops on the rocky road which make you separate you and the "habal-habal" driver, so hold tight. The road destination was about 4-4.5 kilometers and an approximate of 10-15 minutes travel time.
Upon arrival, you we're required to pay an entrance fee for P10.00, and also you can purchase some foods and drinks but expect the prices are much higher than the convenient stores at the city proper, so purchase first before going. But don't expect on arriving the entrance that means you see the waterfall, unfortunately, no. You must walk down for 500 steps descending to see the wonder of the waterfall. On the waterfall itself, you can rent the life-vest around P20-30 pesos, maybe vary of the size on the vest.
Unfortunately, I was not gather any information about the cottages, some fees or others but I can assure you next time I revisit Tinago Falls, I should be able to add any additional information regarding on the site area.
